Hi, my name is Anna Edwards Borcherdt.
Have you ever felt or known that there was more to this existence than meets the eye?
I founded "Yoga Nidra - The Space Within" as a way to explore the universe within and without us, and to find rest and relaxation. I want to share a practice that creates space to explore who we are, and what exists within us - beyond the ego, beyond wants, beliefs, careers, and all the polarities of the material world.
The experience of Yoga Nidra at its simplest and most accessible form, is that it gives you rest. And at its depths can become an enlightening spiritual practice that reveals itself as one journeys along. It serves the practitioner at any level of practice - whether it's your first time trying it or if you have years of experience. That is the nature of Yoga Nidra, it meets you where you're at.
I began my Yoga Nidra journey as a tired mother searching for ways to quiet my mind so I could find rest. They say "sleep when your baby sleeps" - but I was finding that difficult, with a long to-do list, an active and analytical mind, and a baby who took very short naps. Yoga Nidra became my magical entry-point to feeling rested.
I had been practicing for about a year, when my dog barked as I had begun falling asleep. I woke up, yet stayed in the practice and it opened up to me in a whole new way. Profound moments of fundamental change have happened within me as a result of dedicating time to practice. The journey to the universe within continues as I explore who I am.
In the fall of 2021, the invitation came to deepen my journey into Yoga Nidra and I completed a teacher training course taught by Jana Roemer. I am thrilled to share and promote peace and joy with my friends and fellow humans, wherever you may be in your life.
I also serve my community as a photographer, where I seek to visually capture and share the beauty of the natural world, through both portraiture and nature photography. All the photos on this website are captured by me, except for the one above*. See more of my work over at www.annaborcherdt.com
